Ninh Binh // Vietnam

In case you want to see more: I documented many parts of the trip in my Instagram Story and saved it to my Highlights: @martinklengel

We had some really nice days in Ninh Binh which is located south of Hanoi. We stayed outside the city, in the middle of rice fields and vast landscapes. It was so quiet and relaxing. Also there are many things to see around. We did a boat tour to see the Trang An grottoes, for example. Most of the pictures you can see below were taken on that tour. More detailed information will be available in the post in my Travel Blog. So stay tuned!

Phong Nha // Vietnam

In case you want to see more: I documented many parts of the trip in my Instagram Story and saved it to my Highlights: @martinklengel

Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng is a beautiful national park in central Vietnam. It’s famous for it’s giant cave system which is one of the biggest in the world, the vast landscapes and natural water spings. One of those is called Mooc Spring and most of the pictures you can see here were taken there.

The following image shows one of the downsites I encountered while traveling. Many Vietnamese – or Asian people in general – don’t seem to know how damaging trash is for the environment, especially plastic. I have seen many scenes like this, in which it clouds the image of the beautiful landscape. And in the middle of it: creatures that are the least able to change anything about it.

Hoi An // Vietnam

In case you want to see more: I documented many parts of the trip in my Instagram Story and saved it to my Highlights: @martinklengel

Alright, I can not stress enough about how much I LOVED Hoi An. They call it the „City of Lanterns“ and the moment you see it at night you know why. It’s so beautiful and everyone traveling through Vietnam should stay there for at least a couple nights! Also, in my opinion, this photo series contains some of the best portraits I’ve ever taken.

Bangkok

It’s still a bit uncomfortable for me to look at these… but I guess that’s the point of this picture series. It reflects how I perceived the capital of Thailand: chaotic, loud and dirty. But of course not everything about it was as unpleasant as it looks like in the photos. Check out the Bangkok blogpost in my travel blog to read more about my experiences there.

The following pictures were taken at the airplane graveyard in Bang Kapi, on of the 50 districts of Bangkok. We paid 200 Baht per person to the family actually living on that piece of land! They build a barn for their chickens out of one of the airplane wrecks, for example.
